Congratulations to Nimita Patel for Achieving the 20/20 Club!

Meet Nim!

PlanNet Marketing is pleased to welcome Nimita Patel to the 20/20 Club! She says, "I’m Nim, a wife, mum to a teen and our fur baby, living in London.  After taking a career break to raise my son, I’m back working full-time in the corporate world. Alongside the usual life admin, you will often find me in the gym, taking long walks in the countryside, meal planning or planting the seed for our next family trip before booking our next adventure.

"From a young age, I knew I wanted more from life. I was driven, motivated and had a plan to experience the world and what it had to offer. From recharging by the pool to snowmobiling on glaciers, I knew things were coming together. During the time raising my son, I realised that whilst I was blessed to be home full-time, my drive to work hard never diminished and whilst working for small local companies, my hunger to succeed was fully satisfied. I wanted my son to see what a strong work ethic looked like, and so when an opportunity to return to the city presented itself, I took it. Yes, I was terrified! Worried I wouldn’t be successful; remember the intricacies of the role I did 14 years ago, or have the confidence to converse outside of family and children, but I needed to take the chance. The regret of not giving it a go would have been something which would have stayed with me forever.  Five years into my return, I have the same drive, passion and energy to succeed, as I did in my 20s......just a few more wrinkles and grey hair.

"Whilst I don't think I'm a natural cook, I will admit my cooking has come a long way. I occasionally share recipes with those who ask for them. I've become a cook who now throws things together, rather than following a recipe meticulously. My husband comes from a family of exceptional cooks. I felt the pressure and so the first meal I made for him was one I'd cooked many times before. Needless to say, it was a disaster. Completely unsalvageable (despite numerous rescue attempts), in the bin it went. A takeaway was swiftly ordered. Now we have a thing in my household that whenever I try something new, Deliveroo is on standby.

"As a family, we love to travel. Previously, we largely did beach resorts to recharge from having an active young boy. More recently, we have found ourselves hopping between hotels to explore what a country has to offer. We curate road / ferry trips to experience different cultures and experiences, with our favourites including Portugal, Italy and Croatia.

"When I look back on my journey with PlanNet, I realise I have grown in so many ways. I started with doubt, I lacked confidence and I was pushed completely into a new mindset. The journey has challenged me, allowed me to grow and more importantly given me a new source of confidence I didn't think I would see return. My tips for anyone starting out in this business is just go for it. Yes, it may be messy and you may feel lost as you find your way, but keep going with your journey. Review what's worked and what hasn't. Continue to evolve and do what feels right to you. Be authentic and things do start falling into place. Patience is key."
