1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
Rane and Aleese currently live in Basehor, KS. Rane is originally from Kansas City and Aleese is originally from Chicago, but moved to Kansas City in 2012. They have two boys with medical and special needs, along with their family dog. Both share a love of travel and golf, and Rane enjoys working on cars in his spare time. Aleese loves meeting and helping new people. She was previously a teacher and now works in the business full-time alongside Rane. Together, they run Adaptive Adventures Travel as true co-owners, building on each other's strengths and weaknesses to bring out the best of both worlds.
2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Since joining PlanNet Marketing, Aleese has found confidence again after her stroke. There was a season where she was going through her own hospital stays and therapy, staying home as a mom taking care of her kids with special needs. Now she is able to confidently speak in front of thousands of people and lead with purpose. She has become a leader, going from wondering if she could do something to becoming a One-Star Director, mentoring a larger team, and helping others believe in themselves.
She finally found her voice through this business and through PlanNet Marketing.
As a couple, Rane and Aleese have learned how to communicate and understand each other's strengths and weaknesses, helping strengthen their business together. Rane has learned to step out of his comfort zone when it comes to interacting in bigger social gatherings and talking to people he doesn't know. He has experienced becoming a leader and helping fellow travel partners, realizing how knowledgeable he really is. It all shows that Aleese and Rane share a deep passion for helping people, whether on their team or with their clients.
3. What drives you; what motivates you?
Aleese's biggest motivation is her family. She wanted to avoid having to choose between family and being present, while also having something for herself, something that made her feel worthy and like she was contributing, whether through income or doing work that made her happy. Through this journey, what motivates her most is helping others who have been in situations similar to her own, giving them the opportunity to grow personally and develop.
Rane is motivated by being able to provide for their family in a different way while still being present. Hearing about the impact of their work, whether it's helping a family go on their dream vacation, helping a special-needs family travel more easily, or helping someone earn income and build a community, is what drives him most.
4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
In the business, Aleese's role models are Directors Cynthia and Bernard Hampton, along with Yana Ponce and Rochele Bateman, who have taught her so much. The Hamptons specifically taught her not to give up even through hard situations, and to continuously show up and be there for your team when they need you, whether it's just to talk or to help them through something. Community is very important to Aleese, and she feels all three of these leaders truly show the importance of community and camaraderie.
Rane considers his dad, Eldon, to be a role model in his life. Eldon owned his own business for years and is a hard worker, and Rane often turns to him for advice through different situations in life.
5. The three words that describe me best are:
Aleese: Resilient, compassionate, and driven.
Rane: Focused, passionate, and dependable.
6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would it be?
If Rane and Aleese could give one piece of advice, it would be this: don't quit too soon. Consistency beats talent more often than people realize. Most people give up right before they're about to see results because they expect success to happen overnight. The truth is, growth takes time. Stay committed even when it's hard. Show up when you don't feel like it. Keep learning, keep improving, and trust the process. One of their favorite sayings is, "Stick and stay, and earn your pay." The people who win aren't always the most gifted. They're the ones who simply refuse to quit.
7. What does your life look like five years from now?
Five years from now, Rane and Aleese see themselves living a life built on freedom, purpose, and impact. They're building this business together and see it continuing to grow into something that not only changes their family's future but helps hundreds of other families create opportunities for themselves. They envision traveling more together, creating unforgettable memories, and
continuing to build Adaptive Adventures Travel into a trusted name for accessible and family travel. They hope to be financially secure, giving generously, investing in their future, and leaving a legacy for their boys. Most importantly, they want to look back knowing they didn't give up when things were hard. They stayed consistent, kept growing, and built a life they're proud of together. They truly believe the work they're putting in today will create opportunities and freedom for years to come.
