The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Gina Goins Myers

1. Personal: Where you were born and raised; current city; family; hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born in Lumberton, NC and raised in Fayetteville, NC. My husband, Akram, and I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary on October 4th this year. We are parents to three young men ages 27, 25 and 21. My hobbies and interests have changed over the years. I have become an avid reader and truly enjoy nature…I love spending time outdoors.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Wow! Where do I begin. The past three years in the PlanNet have literally changed my whole thought process on what “freedom” really means. Things I could only dream of are now goals that I am achieving and checking them off my list. What I am most excited about is I get to pay it forward to help others achieve their goals! Convention 2022 “The Breakthrough” woke up a sleeping giant in me. The Power of Focus by Jack Canfield fueled my directorship run. Forty days and 40 nights postured me for success in 2023.

3. What drives you what motivates you?
I’m driven by the desire to be different. I am motivated because I am different. There is only one me, success looks different for everyone. It is as unique as our fingerprints. I never thought of myself as being competitive, but I have learned that deep within me I have a “quiet storm” competitiveness. I’d rather not talk but just get it done! I am not motivated by challenges and I generally do not accept them. Noise draws attention…I’d rather just produce!

 4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
My mother, Ruth Goins, hands down is my role model. First of all, she is named after my favorite book in the Bible. My mother is the strongest, most dedicated woman I know. She cared for my ailing father for years until he was called home. She never complained. Worked tirelessly but always made sure my dad was well taken care of all while still working as an educator with special needs children. She is the epitome of the Phenomenal Woman.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Compassionate, loyal, and resilient.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone, what would it be?
If you have not progressed in your business to where you desire, be humble enough to ask for help and then stop talking, listen to the wise counsel of your coaches and go to work. Nothing works but the work!

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
I will have re-gifted my job back to the government. My team and I will have helped thousands of families to the “Freedoms.” My family and those attached to me will be living our best lives!
