The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Jennifer Moore

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born and raised in Houston, TX, and I currently reside in the area. I am the mother of a brilliant teenager who has special needs. I am a middle child, and oldest daughter of a single mother. My hobbies are as follows: I love reading, philanthropy, traveling to various destinations enjoying different cultures and cuisines, and spending time with my son. I don’t have any past business highlights, as I am still a contracting physical therapist. So I would say that I am familiar with entrepreneurship in the medical space.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
Since joining PlanNet, I have become a stronger, more resilient person overall. I’ve focused more on personal development and growth that has in turn allowed me to clear and let go of emotional baggage so that I can pursue my goals in my personal life and in this business. I’ve learned even more so the importance of being coachable. I started this journey as a yellow; in this business, my emotions had to be under control for my true skill to emerge and flourish, thus a tangerine was born! I’ve learned the importance of being a student in order to be a great leader; it has helped me in my personal life be a better daughter, mother, and friend. This is just the beginning!

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
God waking me up to see a new day that was not promised to me drives me to live in my purpose and be the best version of myself that I can be.My son motivates me every day to be a better person. He reminds me how strong I am, and how big my heart is.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
I would consider Helen Keller as role model. For me, she exemplified defying all odds when faced with insurmountable challenges growing up. She defied all stigmatisms and roadblocks placed in her way to make a name for herself and help advocate for those who shared her same disabilities. My son was born prematurely and was not able to speak until the age of four. Having to teach him ASL was not something I thought I would ever have to do just to communicate, but it taught me the beauty in being different. We take for granted our abilities to perform normal daily functions, such as seeing, hearing, and speaking. But to see others surpass these odds to become outstanding individuals in life is nothing short of an amazing blessing.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Grateful, loyal, and humble.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
Don’t allow anyone else’s fears to stop you from accomplishing what God has placed in your path to do. Those who put their trust solely in Him prosper. Always carry yourself with grace and confidence because you never know who is watching you to emulate you. Set the precedence of how someone treats you from the door. Allow your actions to represent your success; your character and integrity will leave the most impressionable effect on the ones you meet.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
In five years I will be fully retired from all other lines of business, enjoying my directorship growth in PlanNet, enjoying aiding my son in his own legacy, and traveling the world more. My goal five years from now is to have achieved Four-Star Director and be on my way to Five-Star Director.
