The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: LaCheryl McDonald

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
My name is LaCheryl McDonald. I was born, raised, and still currently reside in Bronx, NY. Traveling, interior decorating, and dancing are some of my favorite things to do. I started my business to simply book travel only; the potentially life-changing opportunity was not initially shared with me. I was completely "ignorance on fire" and did not have any previous experience in networking marketing. I was so excited to launch my travel business and finally do something I'm so passionate about! I actually had two clients book with me the very first day of my business launch. Little did I know that there was an opportunity for helping others on an even greater level with legacy buiding and generational wealth attached. But, I would soon find out, as I had individuals asking me "LaCheryl, how do I do what you do?" Staying plugged in and following the direction of the leaders in my organization without any prior knowledge of network marketing, I moved up in rank from Bronze, Silver, to Gold in a three-month period in 2020 during the peak of a global pandemic!  Through perseverance, hard work, and the the support of an amazing team, I achieved the rank of DIT (Director in Training) in May 2021. Thereafter, I continued to remain coachable, stay plugged in, attended many in-person and virtual training events (including the 2021 Convention). I locked arms with my Core Team and attained the first level of Directorship in May 2022!

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
This business is so much more than travel! For me, the best way to describe PlanNet Marketing is strongly based upon personal development with an aggressive compensation plan attached. For example, one of our core books, the "The Compound Effect," was significantly impactful to me. I learned to trust my growth and building process and developed a thorough understanding of how small consistent steps over time can manifest to something so much greater! With PlanNet Marketing, this manifestation can be life-changing as this opportunity fosters financial, personal, and time freedom for generations to come. It's so worth it to stick and stay to get your pay!

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My family motivates me. Watching my father work well into his late 70's and die is everything that I don't want for myself and my children. Before I close my eyes to sleep in death, I need to know that my children will be alright. I want my children to know how to work hard, but I don't want them to have to struggle like my parents and I did. Breaking this cycle of working hard and living in poverty is my primary motivation!

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
My father, Aaron Lee McDonald, is my role model. He worked hard consistently despite his plaguing physical disability (Multiple Sclerosis). He refused to accept pity from anyone because of his debilitating condition. He was an amazing example of perseverance, dedication, and hard work, despite his increasingly difficult and daily challenges with his mobility.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Tenacious, positive, and determined.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
Do not allow the "No's" to discourage you and create maladaptive thinking that you won't find success in this opportunity. Get out to PlanNet Marketing events and rub elbows with other amazing leaders. Surround yourself with individuals who are blazing the trail and use their stories to compel both you and your prospects you expose this business to. Use their stories and work on creating a success story of your very own. Always keep in mind, the only thing that can hinder your success is you.  Don't attempt to understand everything or reinvent the wheel, just get started, and follow the PS3 system! Be realistic with the expectations of your success. Work your business consistently and build it one brick at a time!

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
Five years from now I'll be at least a Six-Star Director and retired from my 26-year career in education early as a result of this amazing opportunity.  I will have purchased and paid in full for my dream home in upstate NY. My ultimate goal is continuing my journey, to get the most out of the compensation plan at Nine-Star Director as I help as many families as I can along my journey to the top because the bottom is too crowded.
