The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Lydia Venus

1.  Where you were born and raised; current city; family; hobbies; past business highlights.
I was born in Solihull, West Midlands, England. After finishing all my education, my feet wanted to explore.... I went off gallivanting around the globe crossing over two continents and firmly planting my feet in Dubai and Australia for a four-and-a-half year period. I returned to Solihull in 2012 when the real adventure began – becoming a wife and a Mummy. I am currently moving house into a home we have designed and built from scratch with my husband and three children.

2.  How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
This business has helped me rediscover who I was; I loved becoming a Mum and starting "the family life," but I lost who I was. This business has made me "me" again, and it shows my children you can have it all - a family and a successful career.

3.  What drives you;  what motivates you?
My children, and the life we deserve. The opportunities are endless with this business and for this I am so thankful.

4.  Who would you consider a role model and why?
Outside the business, my parents. They both worked hard creating a family business so my brother and I could have the life we live now.  This is why I do the business; I am duplicating everything they did for us for my children.

Inside the business, there are so many wonderful and inspirational Directors, but my biggest role model is my upline, Three-Star Director Charlotte Ryder. Charlotte is the best mentor you could have in business, not only a mentor and business partner, but also a lifelong friend. Doing this business with her by my side is everything; she motivates and pours into me daily with her fountain of knowledge; she is always there cheering me and my team on from the first business partner to Directorship and beyond; she is everyone’s cheerleader.

5.  The three words that describe me best are:
Transparent, genuine, and organised.

6.  If you had some sound advice to give to anyone, what would it be?
Take one day at a time, and never give up!

7.  What does your life look like five years from now?
Thanks to this business, I have gone part-time in my "normal 9-5 role." In five years' time, I will be solely doing this business from our beautiful new country home, working on my own terms, around my children and other commitments. We will also see more of the world in every school holiday, educating our children about different countries and cultures.
