The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Myisha Basnight

1. Personal: Where were you born and raised; current city; family; hobbies; past business highlights....
I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA. I currently reside in Indian Land, SC, right outside of Charlotte, NC. I am the oldest of two sisters. I have worked in banking as well as the mortgage industry for 10+ years.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
The growth I have had since joining the business has been mindblowing. I understand the importance and responsibility of being a leader and I take on that role with pride and hard work. Talking in front of an audience isn’t something I like to do at all, but with the help of my Director (Ray Gantt), I have pushed myself to be in the front and not in the back.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My past experiences drive and motivate me. My parents didn’t get to live their lives to the fullest and achieve their goals. This is something I am making sure I do for me and my daughter. I want to be proud of what I have accomplished and how I lived my life before I depart from this earth.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
There are several I consider as role models in this business (Nina Vital, Letoria Mayberry, Akua Pippins, Rasheba McGowan, and Tanya Parker, just to name a few). I have watched these ladies and have taken something from each one since joining the business three years ago.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Three words that best describes me are loyal, dedicated and passionate.

6.  If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would it be?
I have realized that life will always happen. However, if you are fighting for something, no matter what it is, always keep pushing. Let nothing knock you off of your square.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
Seven years from now, all of the seeds that I have planted will have sprouted and my/our hard work over the what would be 10 years in business will have paid off tremendously. More importantly, my daughter will have already graduated from college without any student loan debt and started her own businesses with the help of this opportunity!
