The Leadership Spotlight Shines On: Tilly Sharp

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family hobbies; past business highlights.
I'm 21 years old and was born and raised in South London, where I still live today with my mum, my younger brother and our dog, Teddy.

My favourite thing is spending quality time with my family and creating memories with the people I love. I also love listening to music!! Any chance I get.

I'm passionate about showing people that you don't have to come from a certain background or have loads of qualifications or experience to create a life you love. There are opportunities out there for ordinary people to build extraordinary lives.

One of my proudest achievements has been becoming a Director at just 20 years old after joining PlanNet at 19. Stepping into my twenties with freedom, choices and the excitement of waking up every day to build my future.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
When I joined PlanNet at 19, I lacked confidence in myself. I was always the quietest person in the room and found it difficult to be my true self around people.

The biggest transformation hasn't just been in my business, it's been in me. Today, I'm more confident than I ever imagined I could be. I've become a version of myself that I didn't even know existed, someone who is sure of who she is, confident in what she brings to the table and excited about where she's capable of going.

The biggest lesson I've learned is that growth never happens inside your comfort zone. I've learned to trust the feeling that tells me to go for something, rather than letting fear or self doubt make my decisions.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
What motivates me every day is building the life I used to dream about but always felt was out of reach. I can now see that future so clearly, and waking up each day knowing I'm working towards it fills me with excitement.

I'm building a life where I have the freedom to spend time with the people I love, create unforgettable memories and live life on my own terms instead of someone else's.

I'm also driven by proving to myself that I'm capable of anything I set my mind to. I also want to inspire other young, ambitious people to believe in themselves. If my journey can help someone else realise that they too can build confidence, self-belief and a life with more freedom and opportunity, then that's something I'll always be proud of.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
I've been incredibly fortunate to have some amazing role models throughout my journey.

In business, two people who have had a huge impact on me are Lydia Snow and Ellen Pearce. Lydia has shown me that you can build a successful business through love, kindness, generosity and genuinely caring about people.

Ellen has poured so much of her time, belief and energy into helping me grow. She's shown me what can be achieved through hard work, passion and an unbreakable mindset, and she's been there to support me through every high and low of this incredible journey.

My biggest role model is my mum. She's taught me that good things come to good people, that kindness always matters and that anything is possible when you give something your all.

5. The three words that describe me best are:
Ambitious, Hard-working and Kind.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would‌ it be?
Follow that feeling... that feeling that you're meant for more.

If you can picture the kind of life you truly want to live, don't ignore it. So many people talk themselves out of their dreams because of fear, self-doubt or the opinions of others. My advice would be to block out the noise, trust yourself and follow that feeling anyway.

7.  What does your life look like five years from now?
Five years from now, I’ll be 26 and running a 6 figure+ income business, continuing to grow it and make it more successful than ever.

I see myself continuing to become the best version of myself, surrounded by amazing people who inspire me and help me grow.

I want to be travelling more than ever, experiencing new things, creating memories and living life to the fullest with hopefully a family of my own.
